Who has ever wondered how the animals on Noah’s Ark got there? In this new picture-book, we follow Fox as he meets up with all of the animals boarding the Ark two by two.
Two fearless ravens narrate the story as they watch over Fox who senses that something is going on, he’s just not sure what it is. The dark skies and the hurried creatures have him worried. After following the animals for what seems like forever, Fox happens upon a ruined city. He finds himself lost in the midst of rubble and dead-end streets when suddenly he hears the cry of two doves trapped in a cage. Fox rescues the doves who in turn show him the way to the Ark where lo-and-behold there is a fellow fox waiting for him to board the hideaway. All is well that ends well.
Barbara Reid, a Canadian hero in the world of children’s literature, has done it again by combining her magnificent Plasticine illustrations with rhyming verse. The details within each page are so intricate that children will be begging to get the Play-Doh out of the closet so they can try their hand at this unique form of artwork.
