This nationalistic look at the alphabet is fun for very young readers. As they make your way through the alphabet they also take a trip across our great country of Canada. With simple text and bright, playful illustrations, youngsters will learn their letters in addition to learning facts specific to our country. As is typical with many Canadian books, hockey, zambonis and maple syrup are all mentioned however not-so-typical are the references to ice fishing and coal mining.
This simple book is a great one to start new readers with because the pictures help them figure out what the words say thus improving their confidence at reading on their own.
