Look out…Judy Moody is back with more exciting adventures. When Mr. Todd, Judy’s third grade teacher, transforms the classroom into a bone museum, Judy knows she is in for a hair-rising adventure. The class is about to learn more about the Amazing Human Body than you could imagine. Judy already idolizes Elizabeth Blackwell, the first woman doctor, so she is sure to be in a good mood while learning about all things medical. That is until, her friends trick her into believing that they have cloned the class guinea pig. Her mood certainly turns sour when she feels she has been duped.
For Show and Tell, Judy shocks the class by bringing her brother, Stink’s, belly button from when he was born. She then dresses up as Dr. Elizabeth Blackwell and operates on a zucchini. She has the class in hysterics as the blood-covered (aka ketchup) zucchini falls onto the floor and breaks in two. Always quick on her feet, Judy remains clam and barks out “Sutures!” to her assistant Frank. He obliges by passing her the needle and thread and she quickly sews her patient back together. Mr. Todd is impressed with her presentation and the class gives her a resounding round of applause.
This brand-new novel is just as funny as the others in the series: Judy Moody, Judy Moody Gets Famous, Judy Moody Saves the World and Judy Moody Predicts the Future. Peter Reynolds’ quirky illustrations are something to look forward to in each chapter. You really feel like Judy and her friends are the kids next door.
