In this brand new non-fiction book, Cassie Campbell reveals what she believes are the qualities that enable a person to succeed, not only in hockey but in life, in general. Written for a younger audience, this autobiographical work is accompanied by photographs of Cassie dating back to her days as a minor league player. Many of the pictures are of her teammates from Team Canada.
While much of the book details particular games with their scores and statistics, there are also anecdotes that relate to her acronym for success: H.E.A.R.T.. H is for hard work, E is for experience/education, A is for attitude, R is for respect and responsibility and T is for teamwork. The book is divided cleanly into these categories making for an enjoyable focused read.
As an ambassador of the sport, Campbell is able to continue to live her passion by broadcasting for Hockey Night in Canada making her a familiar face to young hockey fans. This book is a wonderful choice for boys and girls alike who may not be apt to pick up a novel but would rather read about the adventures of a Canadian hero. It will serve to inspire all who read it.
