This entertaining story was originally published in 1964 yet the humour surrounding Stanley is as funny today as it was 40 years ago. Stanley’s brother, Arthur, wakes one morning to find Stanley has been flattened by the bulletin board that used to hang above his bed. After visiting the Dr. Dan to ensure nothing serious has happened to Stanley, the Lambchop family carries on with their life as usual. Stanley’s exploits as a flat boy (no more than a 1ž4” thick) include visiting his friend in California by traveling in an envelope, acting as a kite for his brother and most importantly catching the sneak thieves at the Famous Museum of Art.
New independent readers will delight in Stanley’s adventures in this short, illustrated chapter book. They may even want to get in on the action by making a Flat Stanley of
their own to mail to a friend and continue Stanley’s travels.
